Mid-size SUVs remain the segment of choice for Indian families, offering a balance of space, safety and fuel efficiency. With prices largely falling between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 26 lakh, the segment now includes hybrid, petrol and diesel options with six airbags, panoramic sunroofs and ADAS as standard or near standard.
Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta is priced from Rs 10.91 lakh to Rs 20.11 lakh, with three engine options including a 1.5 litre petrol, a 1.5 litre turbo petrol and a 1.5 litre diesel. The diesel manual returns an ARAI mileage of 21.8 kmpl. Six airbags come as standard, with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and Level 2 ADAS available on higher trims.
Kia Seltos
Kia Seltos, updated for its second generation, is priced from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 21.82 lakh. It comes with a 1.5 litre petrol, a 1.5 litre turbo petrol and a 1.5 litre diesel, returning up to 17 kmpl. Six airbags, a panoramic sunroof and a Bose sound system are offered, with Level 2 ADAS on the GTX+ and X-Line trims.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is priced from Rs 10.77 lakh to Rs 19.77 lakh, making it the most affordable option here. The strong hybrid variant returns an ARAI mileage of up to 27.97 kmpl, while a CNG version is also available at a claimed 26.6 km/kg. Six airbags, a panoramic sunroof and all-wheel drive feature on select variants.
Tata Harrier
Tata Harrier is priced from Rs 12.89 lakh to Rs 25.85 lakh, with petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0 litre diesel returns an ARAI mileage of 16.8 kmpl. It comes with up to seven airbags, a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS, along with a five star Bharat NCAP safety rating.
Mahindra XUV 7XO
Mahindra XUV 7XO, the facelifted successor to the XUV700, is priced from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 25.79 lakh. It is offered with a 2.0 litre turbo petrol and a 2.2 litre diesel, in six and seven seat layouts. Six to seven airbags, a 540 degree camera, Level 2 ADAS and a panoramic sunroof are on offer, with a five star Bharat NCAP rating expected.
