Fans have been waiting for an update on Brahmastra 2 ever since Brahmastra Part One: Shiva hit the big screen. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the 2022 film starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead, with Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
Speculation around the sequel has been doing the rounds for some time, particularly after the post-credit scene in the first film teased Deepika Padukone’s character. While her face was blurred, the sequence showed her holding a child, leading to plenty of theories about her role in the next installment. Deepika is expected to have a crucial part in Brahmastra 2.
Now, amid the ongoing buzz around the sequel, we hear that Aneet Padda has also been approached for a role in the film.
Aneet, who rose to prominence with Saiyaara last year, has quickly become one of the names to watch out for. She is currently working on Shakti Shalini, and according to our sources, the actress has been approached for a crucial role opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra 2.
A source tells us, “Aneet has been approached for an important role in Brahmastra 2. The conversations are currently underway, but nothing has been finalised yet. It is a very different space from what audiences have seen her do so far, which makes the possibility of her joining the franchise interesting.”
If Aneet does come on board, her casting would certainly add another interesting layer to the already ambitious ensemble of Brahmastra 2.
