Actress Tanushree Dutta has shared a strongly worded message about how people perceive ‘veteran’ actors, saying that age alone should not determine the respect someone receives.
She said she has learned to judge people by their character rather than their age.

In a lengthy post, Tanushree recalled a situation where she initially thought an older actor needed help because they were no longer getting work. However, she said her perception changed and argued that the term “veteran” can sometimes be associated with people who have spent years learning how to navigate the industry and influence public perception.
“Mujhe bhi yehi laga that ki aged actor hai, koi kaam nahi de raha, help kar deti hoon. But no, Bollywood mein ‘veteran’ ka matlab hai shatir-dimag manjha hua khiladi,” she wrote on Monday, August 24.

The actress further claimed that young and privileged people can sometimes face hostility from older industry members. She said Bollywood has witnessed such situations repeatedly, without naming any individual in her post.

“Some of these very evil and negative people with very dark and nefarious intentions towards youngsters are in the category of veteran. They hate young privilaged people and will do anything to destroy them,” added the actress. The actress concluded her message by saying that the experience had taught her an important lesson about how she views people.
