After recreating Delhi women’s cricketer Medhavi Bidhuri’s now-famous ‘6-7’ gesture during Northamptonshire’s County Championship match against Lancashire at Old Trafford in Manchester, Yuzvendra Chahal put his own unique touch to one of cricket’s most recent viral celebrations.
After dismissing Lancashire batter Joe Moores, Chahal, who was playing for Northamptonshire, caused the celebration. The celebration that has just gone viral on social media began when the seasoned leg-spinner came around the wicket, beat Moores, and crashed into the stumps.
Northamptonshire’s decisive victory was also largely due to Chahal’s effort. As Northants defeated Lancashire by a decisive 316 runs, he concluded with match scores of 18.4-5-39-3. Additionally, it was Northamptonshire’s first victory at Old Trafford since 1999.

But owing to Bidhuri, whose celebration became one of the first viral moments of the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026, cricket fans were already familiar with the ‘6-7′ sign.
After dismissing South Delhi Superstarz batter Nishika Singh during Central Delhi Queens’ tournament opener on August 20, Delhi-born right-arm leg-spinner Bidhuri caused the celebration. When Arushi Goel caught Nishika at mid-wicket in the 16th over, Bidhuri made the characteristic motion of raising and lowering both hands.
Medhavi Bidhuri On ‘6-7’ Celebration
Despite Central Delhi Queens losing by 29 runs, she ended the match with stats of 2/24 from four overs. The number on her back-67-made the event even more striking. At first, Bidhuri planned to wear jersey number 12, but it was already taken. The leg-spinner was able to link the jersey number with the popular ‘6-7’ trend when her younger sister recommended No. 67.
“This ‘6-7’ thing is trending a bit, and my younger sister, who’s like a brother to me, told me to wear jersey number 67 and keep this as my celebration,” Bidhuri said after the match.
Since then, the festivities have continued to follow her. After dismissing batter Vanshika Lila of the East Delhi Riders on August 23, Bidhuri made the gesture once more. Despite the Queens losing again, this time by 19 runs, she returned statistics of 4-0-26-1.
Bidhuri’s eccentric celebration has now spread from Delhi’s domestic circuit to one of England’s major cricket stages, as Chahal has joined the trend in County Championship cricket. Seeing an international cricket player replicate the ‘6-7’ fad after taking a wicket highlights how quickly it has transcended sporting borders for a trend that started as a social media trend.
