Ranveer Singh has reflected on a challenging chapter in his career that came before Dhurandhar transformed his box-office fortunes. The actor, who headlined the ambitious two-part action franchise, recalled a period when some of his films were not performing as expected. Despite the setbacks, he said he continued to receive encouragement and backing from the people who believed in his potential. Looking back, Ranveer suggested that this unwavering faith made the eventual success of Dhurandhar even more meaningful. The actor also spoke about the scale and challenges of mounting the franchise, while expressing gratitude to those who stood by him during a quieter phase.

Ranveer Singh has opened up about the difficult phase in his career that preceded the success of Dhurandhar. Speaking in Reliance’s documentary Parvah Hai Toh Parivar Hai, the actor reflected on the support he received despite some of his films not performing well at the box office.

“I have to say I was given all the love, all the support and all the encouragement, even at a time when my movies were not doing well,” Ranveer said. He acknowledged that career fluctuations are inevitable, adding, “Career hai, ups and downs hote rehte hain.” The actor further explained that receiving such backing during a challenging period made a significant difference to him.

 also highlighted the enormous scale and challenges involved in bringing Dhurandhar to the screen. According to the actor, a project of such magnitude required strong conviction and consistent support, particularly during a period when his box-office momentum had been relatively quiet. He credited the Jio team and the Ambani family for continuing to place their faith in the project and in him. For Ranveer, that confidence became even more meaningful once Dhurandhar went on to achieve major commercial success.

Following Dhurandhar, Ranveer has moved on to another ambitious project,   Directed by Jai Mehta, the survival drama is set in a near-future Mumbai where a deadly pandemic is followed by a zombie outbreak.

The film will also mark Ranveer’s entry into production. He will star alongside Kalyani Priyadarshan, who gained wider attention after Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra in 2025. Further details about the project remain under wraps as filming continues.
