The Indian unit of Skoda Auto has released the facelifted Slavia sedan for 2026 model year. The sedan gets restyled body, new features and an eight-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.0 litre TSI engine. Pre-orders have begun already while prices will be revealed in the future.
This update is meant to improve the standing of the Slavia in India’s sedan segment where it goes against such cars as Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Instead of creating a completely new design, Skoda preferred to implement some targeted changes to the car’s exterior, equipment and powertrains.
Fresh Design Changes
The Skoda Slavia 2026 gets an evolutionary design that is based on keeping the basic silhouette and the sharp side lines. There were some significant improvements to the sedan’s exterior design.
Starting with the front part of the body, the sedan got a new grille, updated bumpers, slim fog lights and LED headlights. Headlights got a new LED daytime running light signature that makes the sedan look sharper.
The grille design has been updated, but the elements are not lit anymore. There are new LED tail lights with sequential turn indicators and new rear bumper.
The updated Slavia is equipped with new 16 inch alloy wheels. These wheels get a dual tone finish in the case of standard variants. The Monte Carlo version gets black finished alloy wheels.
The sedan will be available in 10 different colours. Two of them are new: Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige. The Cappuccino Beige will be available starting from December 2026. Dual tone paint options will also be available depending on the variant.
Sporty Monte Carlo Gets New Looks
The top end Monte Carlo variant retains special design elements to distinguish itself from the other variants. It gets red painted brake callipers, Monte Carlo badge on the front fenders and red stripes on the front grille.
Moreover, the sporty variant got a subtle rear diffuser and a lip spoiler. In addition, the interior of this variant got a complete dark theme with red accents, which makes it more sporty.
The Monte Carlo variant is also equipped with the black alloy wheels. But the size of the wheels remains unchanged: 16 inch units instead of larger 17 inch wheels that some buyers might have expected from this top spec version.
More Technology Inside the Cabin
The facelifted Slavia retains the existing dashboard layout but receives important equipment upgrades. One of the biggest changes is the new 10.25-inch digital TFT instrument cluster.
The digital cluster supports turn-by-turn navigation, although it does not display full-screen maps. The infotainment system has also been upgraded to a 10.1-inch touchscreen. It now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, making smartphone integration more convenient.
The sedan also gets a 360-degree camera system. This feature is expected to make parking and manoeuvring easier in tight urban spaces. The camera system offers improved usability and resolution compared with a conventional rear-view camera.
Rear-seat passengers benefit from massaging functions, a feature previously seen on the facelifted Kushaq. The addition improves comfort during long journeys and gives the Slavia a more premium character.
However, the sedan does not receive rear ventilated seats, rear sun blinds or a separate climate-control zone for rear passengers. Advanced driver assistance systems are also not available, which could disappoint customers seeking the latest active safety technology.
Equipment List Continues
The Slavia facelift carries forward several features from the outgoing model. These include six airbags, a single-pane sunroof, ventilated front seats and rear air-conditioning vents.
Other features include a cooled glovebox, cruise control, an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, front and rear armrests, Type-C charging ports, a wireless charger and single-zone automatic climate control.
The sedan continues to offer a spacious cabin and comfortable seating layout. Since there are no major mechanical changes to the platform or body structure, cabin space remains largely similar to the outgoing version.
The standard variants are expected to continue with a beige-and-black interior theme. This combination gives the cabin a brighter and more spacious appearance, while the Monte Carlo version gets a darker interior with red accents.
New 8-Speed Automatic with 1.0 TSI
The biggest mechanical update is the addition of an eight-speed automatic gearbox with the smaller 1.0-litre TSI engine. This transmission was first introduced with the facelifted Kushaq and is now being offered in the Slavia.
The 1.0-litre TSI engine continues to produce 115bhp and 178Nm of torque. It will be available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or the new eight-speed automatic transmission.
The new automatic gearbox could make the Slavia more appealing to buyers who primarily drive in congested city traffic. Compared with the previous automatic setup, the eight-speed unit is expected to deliver smoother gear changes and improved efficiency.
The 1.0-litre TSI engine will be available across the variant range, including the Monte Carlo trim.
1.5 TSI Gets Revised Line-up
The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine continues to be offered on the top-spec Prestige and Monte Carlo variants. It produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque and is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
However, the six-speed manual gearbox option with the 1.5-litre engine has been discontinued. This means buyers choosing the larger engine will have to opt for the DSG automatic transmission.
The 1.5-litre TSI remains the performance-focused option in the Slavia range, offering stronger acceleration and higher torque than the 1.0-litre unit. The seven-speed DSG gearbox is expected to appeal to enthusiasts who prefer quicker and more responsive gear shifts.
Prices to Be Announced
Skoda has opened pre-bookings for the facelifted Slavia, but the company has not yet announced prices. The updated sedan is expected to command a premium over the outgoing version because of its styling changes, additional technology and new automatic transmission.
The Slavia is currently India’s second best-selling sedan, behind its Volkswagen Virtus sibling. With the facelift, Skoda hopes to strengthen its position and attract more buyers to the sedan segment.
The refreshed exterior, improved infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, rear massage function and new eight-speed automatic gearbox give the Slavia several important upgrades. Once prices are revealed, the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift will be better placed to compete with feature-rich rivals while retaining its strong driving character and spacious cabin.
