Actor Yashvardan Ahuja, son of veteran actor Govinda, is set to make his Hindi film debut with ‘Hero Ki Horrorine’, a horror-comedy that also marks filmmaker Sajid Khan’s return to the big screen after 12 years.
The film, which combines horror, romance and comedy, stars Yashvardan Ahuja opposite Nitanshi Goel. The ensemble cast includes Sunita Ahuja, Jamie Lever, Chunky Pandey, Brijendra Kala and Simrat Kaur Randhawa.
Produced by Ektaa R. Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Amar Butala, the film is a Jai Ho Media Ventures production, presented by Balaji Telefilms Ltd and directed by Sajid Khan. Butala, who has previously backed films including ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Kesari’ and ‘Mission Majnu’, has joined hands with Ektaa R. Kapoor for the project.
For Yashvardan, the film marks his first appearance as a leading actor in Hindi cinema, while Nitanshi plays the female lead. The project brings together established actors and younger performers in a supernatural comedy setting.
‘Hero Ki Horrorine’ is scheduled to arrive in theatres on January 7, 2027.
The film also marks Sajid Khan’s return to filmmaking after a prolonged absence. Khan faced sexual harassment allegations from several women, including Mandana Karimi, Saloni Chopra, Rachel White, Simran Suri, Marina Kuwar, Aahana Kumra, Dimple Paula, Sherlyn Chopra and journalist Karishma Upadhyay, during the #MeToo movement in India in 2018.
Following the allegations, the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association imposed a ban on Khan from directing films. The ban was revoked on December 10, 2019.
