Bihar Road Accident: At least five people died and five others got injured in Bihar’s Champaran after a speeding bus ran over them on the NH-727. As per the reports, the victims were watching a cultural program on the roadside when the speeding vehicle struck them.
The bus was traveling between Gorakhpur and Bettiah, and the incident reportedly occurred due to the overspeeding. The locals, following the accident, rushed the injured to a nearby hospital and informed the authorities.
Police Begin Probe
As per the eyewitnesses, the bus driver lost control as a truck carrying gas cylinders was coming from opposite direction. They further stated that both the heavy vehicles were travelling at high speeds and the bus driver suddenly changed the direction, leading to the accident. The officials arrived at the site upon being informed and began a detailed probe after questioning the locals.
The locals further stated that while two people died on the spot, the other people with serious injuries succumbed to the injuries during treatment. The deceased in the accident have been identified as Sanjay Mahato, Bhola Dubey, Bahadur Mahato, Devendra Dubey and Changur Ram. Apart from this, the injured individuals are currently being treated at a nearby hospital.
In another similar incident, two persons were killed after a speeding car hit a motorcycle from behind while it was going towards Old Railway Road near Lalji Hospital in Sector 12, Gurugram, in Haryana on Thursday night. A Tata Punch crashed into a bike in the Sector 14 police station area. Police filed a case against the car driver and arrested him.
One of the deceased was identified as Enforcement Directorate employee Rohit Kumar. The ED staff member was riding the motorcycle when the car hit it from behind. 26-year-old Rohit Kumar was a resident of Jadra village in Rampura police station area of Rewari, while 27-year-old Abhishek Kumar was a resident of Rewari Kheda village in Bhiwani.
