Additional Director General of Police i.e. ADGP Dr. JP Singh, who holds an important position in Himachal Pradesh Police, has taken voluntary retirement (VRS) ahead of time. Dr. Singh could have stayed in service till 31 July 2027, but he decided to be relieved three years before the scheduled time. Preparations are being told to enter politics behind his decision.
According to the information, Dr. JP Singh, who belongs to Tagra village in Manjhi block of Chhapra district of Bihar, is now going to start a political innings in his home state. According to sources, they are preparing to contest from Chhapra assembly constituency.
As soon as the news of his VRS comes out, the round of discussions in political circles has intensified. It is also being speculated that they may join hands with a big national party.
IPS officers are of 2001 batch
2001 batch IPS officer Dr. Singh started his services as a probationer in Kangra in Himachal. After this, he was posted in many important positions like ASP Kangra, Governor’s ADC, SP Chamba, SP Sirmaur, SP Intelligence.
Apart from this, he has also served in IG South Range, IG North Range and Vigilance. He was posted as ADGP CID before taking VRS. The intelligence branch under his leadership did remarkable work in many cases. His image among the public has been an honest, strict but the officer who takes decisions in the public interest.
Which party will be included, not decided
However, now it will be interesting to see which political party they join and how much support they get in the upcoming assembly elections. After the long and uninterrupted service in Himachal, in which direction the political journey of Dr. JP Singh will go, everyone’s eyes are on.
