Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has announced another price hike across its passenger vehicle portfolio in India. Effective from September 1, 2026, prices of Tata cars and SUVs will increase by up to Rs 25,000. The revision will apply to both ICE and electric vehicles.
The exact increase will vary depending on the model and variant. This means Rs 25,000 represents the maximum hike and will not be applicable uniformly across the entire portfolio. Model-wise revised prices are expected to be available closer to the effective date.
Tata Motors September 2026 Price Hike
Tata Motors has attributed the latest revision primarily to rising input costs and sustained inflationary pressures. While the company continues to absorb a significant portion of the increase, some of the additional cost will now be passed on to customers.
The price revision covers Tata’s entire passenger vehicle portfolio. This includes ICE models such as Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Altroz, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier and Safari, as well as the company’s growing electric vehicle range. Tata Motors has not announced individual increases for these models yet. Depending on the variant, the actual hike could therefore be considerably lower than the maximum Rs 25,000 figure.

Second Price Hike In Three Months
September’s revision comes relatively soon after Tata Motors . That revision was up to 1.5% and was applicable to both ICE and electric vehicles.
The upcoming increase is structured differently, with Tata specifying a maximum hike of Rs 25,000 instead of a percentage. For some customers, this effectively means another increase within a span of around two months.
Tata isn’t alone in revising prices ahead of the festive season. a price increase of up to 1% across its portfolio from September 2026, citing rising input and commodity costs, higher operational expenses and macroeconomic uncertainties. Market leader, earlier this month.
Festive Season Buyers To Pay More
The timing is notable as September marks the beginning of an important period for India’s automotive industry, with manufacturers typically witnessing increased demand during the festive months.
Customers planning to purchase a Tata vehicle could potentially avoid the upcoming increase if their purchase is completed under existing prices before the revision takes effect. However, pricing applicable to existing bookings will depend on Tata Motors’ invoicing and delivery terms.
Revised ex-showroom prices will also have an impact on the final on-road cost, since components such as registration and insurance can be linked to vehicle value. With the new prices becoming effective from September 1, buyers will have to wait for Tata Motors’ updated price list to know the exact increase applicable to each model and variant.
