Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra are fighting for the second position in India’s passenger vehicle market, with a marginal difference in their monthly sales figures. Tata Safari EV
With the Mahindra XEV 9S in its sight, the is estimated to be priced between Rs 22.50 lakh – Rs 30 lakh. While its official powertrain specifications are yet to be announced, it’s expected to share the 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs with the Harrier EV. The dual-motor, AWD configuration will be exclusively offered in higher trims. The Safari EV is expected to deliver a range of over 500km.
The Tata Safari EV will feature several EV-specific changes inside and out, while retaining the overall design and cabin layout of its ICE counterpart.
Tata Scarlet
Codenamed Scarlet, the rugged SUV is likely to feature a boxy stance with several design cues derived from the Sierra. According to reports, it will could be designed on a monocoque chassis capable of supporting ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric powertrains. Tata is likely to offer either the Nexon’s 120bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol, or an all-new naturally aspirated 1.5L petrol engines for the Scarlet.
The Tata Scarlet is expected to be priced competitive against the upcoming Mahindra Vision S and Renault Bridger. However, it’s prices might overlap with the Nexon and Nexon EV.
