India will give 10 lakh workers to Russia
Russia will give around 1 million Scloud Workforce from India to work here by the end of this year to overcome the shortage of workers in its industrial areas. Russian Industry Board Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry Head Andrei Besin, in a conversation with news agency Rosbigation Consulting (RBC), informed about the plans to ask for skilled workers from India. Besin said that as far as I know, 10 lakh expert workers from India will come to Russia by the end of the year. These include Russia’s Swardlovsk region. A new Consul General is opening in Yakaterinburgh to look into matters related to this. Besin said that with the arrival of Indian professionals, the lack of very capable workforce in the Swardlovsk region will be fulfilled.
Why do Russia want laborers
The Swardelovsk region located in the Ural mountain is the center of heavy industry and military-industrial complexes. It also includes Ural Wagon Javod, a world famous Uralmash and T-90 series tank-making company. Besin said that industrial enterprises located in this region need to increase the amount of production, but there is a shortage of efficient workers here. He cited some workers behind this as an important reason for the tendency of some workers being deployed in the ongoing Russian military operations and not going to factories of Russian youth. He said that Russia is also considering calling workers from Sri Lanka and North Korea, but it is a complex issue.
The process started in 2024
The process of workers coming from India in the enterprises of Russian regions started in 2024 itself. These workers were invited by Raundinu, going to the Callingrad Fish Processing Complex. According to the RBC news agency, the Russian Labor Ministry has estimated a shortage of 31 lakh people in the workforce by 2030. It has proposed to increase the invitation of qualified foreign workers in 2025 to 1.5 times to 2.3 lakh people.
The Russian Labor Ministry estimates that in 2024, Russian industrial enterprises attracted 47,000 qualified migrants from non-nation. The Ministry of Economic Development has also asked other countries to increase the scope of attracting workers.
