Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has turned into one of the biggest hits of his career, and now fans want more. The character of Shivam Pandit became an emotion for loyal Awarapan fans over the years, and now, the sequel’s open ending has left many wondering what comes next. Writer Bilal Siddiqui has now spoken about the possibility of Awarapan 3. This comes after Emraan himself dropped a hint about the threequel during a special theatre visit.
Bilal Siddiqui On Plans For Awarapan 3
Awarapan 2 writer Bilal Siddiqui recently addressed questions about a possible Awarapan 3. He told Hindustan Times that he and producer Vishesh Bhatt have only exchanged a few messages after the film’s release and have not had time to discuss detailed plans yet. Siddiqui admitted he is still waiting to hear from Bhatt about the way forward.
Despite no confirmation, Siddiqui sounded hopeful about continuing the story. He said he hopes Bhatt thinks about taking the franchise forward soon, adding that he himself feels excited about the idea. For now, though, Siddiqui says he is simply happy the film has connected with audiences the way the team had hoped.
Emraan Hashmi Teased Third Part During Theatre Visit
Even before Bilal Siddiqui’s comments, Emraan Hashmi himself sparked excitement about the third part. During a surprise appearance at a Mumbai theatre with co-star Disha Patani, Hashmi said, “Hopefully, Awarapan 3 very soon,” while interacting with fans watching the film.
While the moment went instantly viral on the internet, there is no formal announcement about Awarapan 3 yet. Given the sequel’s strong run at the box office so far, the odds of the franchise continuing do seem to be in its favour.
Awarapan 2 Crosses Rs 100 Crore Mark
has given Emraan Hashmi the biggest hit of his career so far. By Day 6, the film had collected Rs 111.63 crore net in India, with its worldwide gross reaching Rs 150 crore plus. Even with a slight dip on its first Wednesday, the film has held strong, earning Rs 7 crore net. Awarapan 2 not only emerged as Emraan’s biggest ever solo opener but also became his first solo film to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
The journey of Awarapan 2 marks a huge turnaround for the franchise. The original Awarapan, released in 2007, was a box office failure despite good reviews, and later became a cult classic. The part instalment was directed by Mohit Suri, whereas Nitin Kakkar stepped in for the sequel.
