The 8th game of the ongoing UP T20 league was a rather remarkable one, especially for those fans for whom the love of batting is a special one.
And it brought much success to a certain Rinku Singh, the big hitting brave lower order batter who’s earned quite a name for himself especially where hitting in the format’s shortest version is conceded.
So the big question is just what happened recently involving Rinku Singh?
In a rain affected game, against the Lucknow Falcons that took place at the noted Ekana stadium, the Meerut team under the captaincy of the big hitting Rinku Singh completely changed the course of the contest in its favour thanks to Singh’s unpardonable assault with the bat.
After Lucknow set a difficult 183 runs on the board for the Meerut side to win, when it came down to making something out of the chase, Rinku Singh was attacking and batted with a rich vein of form.
With 59 needed off the last 5 overs with Rinku Singh still at the cease even if the demanding required scoring rate was nearly 12 an over, the attacking batter got on with his job!
In the 15th over he had already hit Abhinandan Singh for 19 runs. But the bigger assault would come an over later.
On the 16.3 over of the run chase, Rinku Singh struck a huge six on to the leg side for a flying six. A ball earlier his Meerut team had been 1 run behind from the required DLS score but with a six now, they were in a commanding position.
Then, in the 17th over, Singh was attacking as he had never done before in this innings, smashing Navneet Kumar for 26 runs off just 5 deliveries. His brilliant and bold display of aggression with the bat truly put the crowds to the edge of their seats leaving no margin for error and none for entertainment, either!
