Brahmastra 2 is back in the news and the latest update brings Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone will be teaming up for the project. Ayan Mukerji is completely focused on the sequel with Ranbir planning to begin the film after completing Ramayana. According to the latest report, Ranbir is expected to start shooting for Brahmastra 2 in April 2027. The actor is currently committed to Ramayana, and the plan is to move into Ayan Mukerji’s film once the work on the Nitesh Tiwari directorial is completed.
Alia Bhatt is expected to return as Isha alongside Ranbir. The two actors played the lead pair in Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, which introduced the Astraverse and established the story of Shiva and Isha. The sequel is expected to expand the mythology and take the story forward. Deepika Padukone had a brief appearance as Amrita in the first part, and the character is important in the second installment.
Earlier reports had also suggested that the second part would explore the characters connected to Shiva’s parents and the larger conflict involving Dev. Ranbir, meanwhile, has several major commitments before returning to the Astraverse. He is currently working on Ramayana, while his other projects are also being discussed. The latest report says Dhoom 4 is currently on hold, which has given the actor’s schedule more clarity for Brahmastra 2. The casting details are yet to be officially announced.
