Tickets for Dune: Part Three are now on sale ahead of its theatrical release on December 18, 2026, giving audiences an early chance to get seats to Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated conclusion to his Dune trilogy.
Excitement on its high, also given its massive clash with Marvel’s upcoming tentpole, Avengers: Doomsday. Dune 3 will be released in IMAX, IMAX 70MM, Dolby, D-Box, and other premium large-format screens. But for ardent fans eager to watch it before everyone else, there will be some hoops to jump through. Special Dune Insider screenings on December 14 and 15 are already proving tough to book, especially in premium formats.
Dune 3 early screenings selling out fast
Tickets are now on sale for Dune: Part Three from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Fans who joined Dune Insiders could see special screenings days before the official release. There are only a few screenings on the two aforementioned dates, with many seats reportedly disappearing soon after sales opened. Fans are also facing online queues in attempts to get tickets.
The early screenings could be particularly competitive for those looking to book IMAX 70MM, one of the rarest and most coveted formats for major blockbuster releases.
Dune 3 IMAX 70MM tickets go on sale
Villeneuve’s last Dune film will have a major premium-format release including regular IMAX, IMAX 70MM, Dolby, D-Box and other large-format presentations. IMAX 70MM is still particularly rare, as there are only a handful of theaters equipped to show films in the format. That means those screenings will probably sell out way faster than regular showtimes.
The large-format presentation is expected to be a huge draw, because Villeneuve has built the Dune films around massive landscapes, detailed production design, large-scale battles and immersive sound.
New Dune 3 teaser with Paul, Chani and Irulan
Tickets for the movie open as it also boasts new footage with Paul Atreides (TimothĂ©e Chalamet), Chani (Zendaya) and Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh). On August 18, the new teaser launched, suggesting the rising political and personal stakes as Paul grows into the messianic figure Muad’Dib.
Chani is expected to play a much larger role in Dune: Part Three, and Irulan is also set to be more important to the story. Paul’s power increases, and his relationships with them become increasingly complicated.
Who is Edric in Dune 3?
The new teaser includes Edric, a Guild Navigator who plays an important role in Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, which is expected to be the main source material for the third movie. The teaser shows Princess Irulan questioning a mysterious figure about the future, and the answer is, “The end.”
Edric matters because Villeneuve’s movies have kept the Spacing Guild and its mysterious Navigators in the background. So Dune: Part Three could provide viewers with their first major look at how the Guild operates in this cinematic universe.
Dune 3 adapts Dune Messiah
The film will adapt Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, which takes place years after the events of Dune. Instead of tracking Paul’s ascent, the story looks at the consequences of his triumph. Paul has risen to be a powerful political and religious figure, but different factions are secretly working together to bring him down.
Stars Chalamet, Zendaya and Florence Pugh return with Anya Taylor-Joy, Jason Momoa and Robert Pattinson, among others.
The movie’s December 18 release also sets up a major box-office showdown, as it lands on the same day as Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday.
