New Delhi: A day after unveiling its new team, the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) has now shifted its focus to pollbound states, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
The saffron party appointed national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Vinod Tawde as Uttar Pradesh’s in-charge. In Punjab, the BJP appointed national general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Satish Poonia as the state in-charge.
BJP president made Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh in-charge of party affairs in Gujarat.
“These appointments will come into effect immediately. The appointment of other state in-charges will be made in due course; meanwhile, the current Prabhari arrangement will continue,” the BJP said in a circular.
The in-charges for the three states were announced a day after the saffron party unveiled its new team.
Nabin on Monday announced the party’s new national office-bearers. Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Tirath Singh Rawat, Ram Madhav, Baijyant Jay Panda, D Purandeshwari, Rekha Verma, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, Bharti Pravin Pawar, Manpreet Singh Badal, Lal Singh Arya, M. Nagaraja, Tariq Mansoor and Madhuchandra Kar have been appointed as National Vice Presidents.
Vinod Tawde and Smriti Irani have been appointed as National General Secretaries. Piyush Goyal has been appointed as the National Treasurer.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers and expressed confidence in the new team’s ability to strengthen the party and focus on public service.
“Congratulations to the newly appointed National Office Bearers of the BJP and those who have been given various responsibilities in the Party. This newly appointed team brings together organisational experience, energy and grassroots connect. I am confident they will give their best in strengthening our Party and focussing on public service. My best wishes to them.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X.
The BJP has brought in many new faces, including Kavita Patidar, K Surendran, Sandeep Pathak and Manoj Tigga, in its team of 16 national secretaries from different states.
