Vijay’s final film before his full-time political career, ‘Jana Nayagan’, is set to make its streaming debut on Zee5 on August 21.
Directed by H Vinoth, the film had faced several delays before eventually reaching cinemas on July 23. Its OTT arrival will give audiences another opportunity to watch Vijay in what is being presented as his last acting project.
The film features Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Nizhalgal Ravi in important roles.
Anirudh Ravichander has composed the soundtrack, with lyrics by Vivek. The movie was produced by Venkat K Narayana under the KVN Productions banner.
According to Sacnilk’s tracking data, ‘Jana Nayagan’ collected around Rs 227.14 crore in India and approximately Rs 320.34 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.
The film also serves as a major milestone in Vijay’s transition from cinema to politics. After the movie’s release, he moved ahead with his political career and contested the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections held in April 2026.
Vijay subsequently won the election and assumed office as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, making ‘Jana Nayagan’ a significant title in the actor’s transition from the film industry to public life.
