Patna: The movement of Bihar has increased once again. Close to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and state minister Ashok Chaudhary has threatened to file a defamation case of Rs 100 crore against Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore (PK). The minister has sent a notice to PK for this and said that if PK does not publicly apologize within seven days or does not give concrete evidence to prove the allegations, legal action will be initiated against him.
PK allegations
Prashant Kishore had recently made serious allegations against Ashok Chaudhary at a press conference. He said that the minister and his family have acquired assets worth about 200 crores through “Manav Vaibhav Vikas Trust”. Apart from this, PK alleged that Ashok Chaudhary bought land in the name of his daughter Shambhavi Chaudhary and made illegal transactions in this process. He accused the minister of corruption, land scam and possession of benami property.
Minister’s stance
Responding to these allegations, Ashok Chaudhary said that PK’s claims are misleading and baseless. He clarified in the notice that if PK cannot prove the allegations and does not apologize, then he will not only have to pay compensation of Rs 100 crore but also have to face legal action. The minister said that he will ensure his rights through the court.
past events
This is not the first case. Earlier, Ashok Chaudhary had filed a defamation case on Prashant Kishore. At that time PK had alleged that the minister bought a ticket for his daughter using money in the Lok Sabha elections. Shambhavi Chaudhary last contested from Samastipur from Chirag Paswan’s party.
Experts believe that this case has intensified the political movement of Bihar. Prior to the election, this dispute can become a big political issue in the context of the allegations raised by PK against BJP and JDU leaders. It is getting a lot of discussion in the opposition and the media and it can affect political strategies in the upcoming assembly elections.
