Sri Lanka lose five wickets for 99 as India dominate at Galle

In the first Test match against , Sri Lanka has reached the score of 99 runs for the loss of five wickets in 28 overs at the stroke of lunch on Day 3. The hosts are now trailing by 363 runs.

Sri Lanka’s opening batsman Nishan Madushka was dismissed on a two-ball duck. Fellow opening batsman Lahiru Udara departed after scoring 27 runs in 44 balls, including six boundaries.

Dinesh Chandimal and Kamindu Mendis managed to score four and 14 runs, respectively. Chandimal faced 16 balls, whereas Mendis’ 25-ball knock included a boundary and a maximum. Captain Dhananjaya de Silva registered 21 runs in 41 balls, with the help of four boundaries.

Sonal Dinusha and wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella are unbeaten at the crease.

Team India’s Manav Suthar has claimed two wickets. Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja have bagged one wicket each. Prasidh Krishna will continue the hunt for his first scalp.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant managed to score 39 runs in 62 balls, with the help of four boundaries and a maximum.

Rahul, who retired hurt on the previous day, returned with his willow on Day 2. The right-handed batsman garnered 82 runs off 175 deliveries. His knock was laced with 10 boundaries and a maximum.
