Joey Logano responds to critics after Richmond win with ‘4 the haters’ message

Joey Logano Fires Back at Critics Following Richmond Triumph, Flaunts  Credentials

Joey Logano, the seasoned Team Penske Racing driver and three-time   Cup Series champion, has bluntly addressed his detractors after breaking a nine-year winless streak with a commanding victory at Richmond.

Known for his clutch performances in the playoffs era, Logano’s success-two titles in the Next-Gen car era among them-has often drawn sharp criticism from a vocal faction of fans who question the legitimacy of his championships. The introduction of the 10-race Chase format in 2026 only intensified the debate, yet Logano remains unshaken.

“They’re all legit. I don’t care what the format is. Everyone knew the rules when it started, okay? I’ll say that first,” Logano asserted with a confident smile. His remarks came after securing two wins in a late-season resurgence that has thrust him back into  contention despite a difficult start to the year. The veteran driver has embraced the criticism as fuel, revealing a defiant team mantra emblazoned on their hauler scoreboard: “4 the Haters.” “Do I have a little chip on my shoulder? Yes. That’s a clear yes,” he admitted. “That’s a little good extra motivation. Either way the Mickey Mouse ears look good on the trophies, and the check was pretty cool to go with it.”

Logano also opened up about the frustrating opening months of the 2026 season, during which he and crew chief Paul Wolfe struggled to generate momentum despite meticulous preparations. “I remember vividly telling him sitting in his office, Paul, if I had the keys to this place, had my name on the door, I don’t know what I would do different,” Logano said candidly. The No. 22 team’s resilience has been tested, but their unity has prevailed. “If they were any other team, they would’ve lost the will to continue fighting,” Logano reflected. “That was a confusing, frustrating thing to say because I felt like I have all the right people around me, we just weren’t winning or running well in that case, which is kind of just confusing, head-scratching. Proud of everyone sticking together. Those are the times it’s hard to do that. Times you see teams break.”

With just two races left in the regular season, Logano’s ability to consistently score points could position him as a formidable challenger to Denny Hamlin and others once the points reset for the Chase. The fiery Penske driver’s blend of experience and tenacity continues to define his career, proving that the “haters” will have to reckon with his undeniable track record and relentless pursuit of victory.
