Yash has addressed Rashmika Mandanna’s old ‘show-off’ remark during his appearance on Rajat Sharma’s Aap Ki Adalat. The Kannada superstar, who is gearing up for the release of Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, chose not to dwell on the controversy and has hinted that he has decided to move on from it. Rashmika Madanna, had spoken about Yash in an interview, however she later shared an apology note saying clips from her appearance on the show had me taken out of context and did not show the entire portions of it.

During his conversation with Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, was asked about Rashmika Mandanna’s controversial comment from 2017. At the time, she was asked who she considered the ‘Mr Showoff’ of the Kannada film industry. After initially refusing to answer, eventually took Yash’s name.

The remark got her severe backlash from Yash’s fans on social media, making Rashmika Mandanna to issue an apology and clarify her comments. Years later, Yash appeared to take the incident in his stride. “I don’t know in what sense she spoke. She was new. There are ‘bakwaas’ TV shows, where the interviewer gives 3-4 options, and probably ‘yeh ladki sochi ki yeh option suit hoga.’ Bahut saare directors offended ho gaye. I personally feel that’s okay; that’s somebody’s opinion. That’s what I wrote. Anybody can give an opinion about you. But somebody’s opinion will not be my personality. Jo main hoon, woh kisi ke nazariye se nahin badalta hai. Main jo hoon, main hoon,” Yash said. He went on to say that anybody who abuses an actor for sharing their comments cannot be his fan. “If you don’t respect another actor, then you are not my fan’.
Soon after the issue became bigger, Rashmika Mandanna later share a note mentioning that her words had been taken out of context. In a Facebook statement, she praised Yash’s talent and said she admired how heins had inspired her and others. She also mentioned that editing only a couple of lines from a light-hearted interaction had changed the original context.
