Actor Ronit Bose Roy is mourning the death of his beloved pet dog Magic, who passed away after spending 11 years with the family.
Roy shared an emotional tribute on social media, remembering Magic for the mischief, tantrums and unconditional affection that made him an integral part of the family.
“R.I.P. my lil baby. Thank you for the wonderful 11 years together. Thanks for terrorizing every one who came home and not allowing them to enter and then terrorizing them again and not allowing them to leave,” Roy wrote.
Recalling Magic’s characteristic behaviour, the actor thanked his pet for the “tantrums and sulking”, adding that he always recognised the love behind them.
Roy also spoke about Magic’s difficult final days and expressed regret that he had been “helplessly unable to do any more about it”.
“I wish there was a way for you to stay longer. Too soon, too soon,” he wrote, while saying he found some comfort in knowing that Magic was now free from suffering and “in a better place.”
The actor said Magic’s absence would leave a lasting void in the family, particularly for Agasthya Bose Roy and Aador Bose Roy.
“Please don’t forget us. See you on the other side,” Roy wrote in his emotional farewell.
On the professional front, Roy began his film career with Jaan Tere Naam in 1992. Despite the film’s successful theatrical run, he initially struggled to establish himself in Bollywood and subsequently appeared in films including Hulchul, Sainik and Dosti Ki Saugandh.
Television brought him wider recognition, with his portrayal of Rishabh Bajaj in Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay becoming a major breakthrough. He later played Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
Roy subsequently headlined shows including Bandini and Adaalat, in which his portrayal of lawyer K.D. Pathak became another popular character.
He also established himself as a character actor in Hindi cinema, featuring in films such as Udaan, Student of the Year, 2 States, Ugly, Kaabil, Sarkar 3, Munna Michael and Lucknow Central. His performance in Udaan received particular critical acclaim.
