Actor Vishal tried his hand at direction for the first time with the action drama Magudam (Makutam in Telugu) after some issues arose during the shooting. The movie arrived in theatres yesterday to a disastrous response.
The reviews are outright negative, but what’s more appalling is the opening day numbers. Despite Vishal featuring in the film, it opened to below Rs. 1 crore gross in India, which is shocking, to say the least. The opening has indeed sent shockwaves across the industry. Several shows were cancelled due to low turnout.
There was no awareness among moviegoers, and hence the film sealed its fate on the opening day itself following bad reviews and negative word-of-mouth. Dushara Vijayan and Anjali played the female leads.
