Kartik Aaryan To Attend President Droupadi Murmu’s At-Home Reception In Rashtrapati Bhavan

Kartik Aaryan is set to attend the Reception hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on August 15. The annual Independence Day gathering brings together people from different fields, including political leaders, armed forces personnel, sportspersons, artists and other notable achievers. Aaryan’s invitation has come a month after he was named as the recipient of his first ever National Film Award for his performance in Chandu Champion.

Kartik Aaryan will attend the Independence Day ‘At Home Reception’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 15. Hosted by President Droupadi Murmu, the formal gathering is held annually as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The reception is attended by distinguished guests from several fields and individuals recognised for their contributions in different areas.

According to the latest reports, Aaryan is the only Bollywood actor who will attend the President’s Independence Day reception this year. His presence follows his National Award recognition and is surely a huge honour for the young actor.

Kartik Aaryan’s National Award win

The  were announced on July 18, 2026, and recognised films that received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) during the 2024 calendar year. Kartik Aaryan received the Best Actor award for his performance in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion. He shared the honour with veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty.

After winning the award, Kartik took to his Instagram account to express his happiness. He shared a video of the moment when his name was announced as the  and his family’s sweet reaction. Kartik penned an emotional note reflecting on the significance of the award. He wrote, “Still processing… Some moments are simply bigger than words, and this is one of them.” He added that his dream that he has ‘carried for years’ has finally come true.

In Chandu Champion, the actor played Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medallist. The 2024 biographical sports drama follows Petkar’s life and his journey as an athlete. Before pursuing sports, Petkar served in the Indian Army and sustained life-changing injuries during the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

The film traces his subsequent journey into competitive sport, particularly swimming, and his participation at the 1972 Heidelberg Paralympic Games. Petkar won the gold medal in the 50-metre freestyle swimming event, becoming India’s first Paralympic gold medallist. Aaryan’s performance required him to portray Petkar at different stages of his life and career, including the period following his injuries and his transition into competitive sports.
