Kannada superstar Yash has revisited the iconic 2018 box-office clash between KGF: Chapter 1 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, making it clear that he never considered it a battle against the Bollywood legend. During the promotions of Toxic, the actor spoke about staying grounded despite KGF emerging as the bigger commercial success.
“He is a superstar. We were a very small film. We never thought we were competing with Shah Rukh Khan.” He added that comparing himself to actors who have ruled the industry for decades would be the biggest mistake of his career. “The day I think I am bigger than my seniors, my career is over.”
Explaining his philosophy, Yash said success is temporary, but humility is what keeps an artist relevant. He added that legends like Shah Rukh Khan deserve respect as they earned their stature through years of hard work, consistency and love from audiences.
Released on December 21, 2018, KGF: Chapter 1 became a nationwide phenomenon and transformed Yash into a pan-India star. The actor is currently looking forward to the release of his highly anticipated pan Indian film Toxic, co-starring Nayanthara, Kiara Advani and others.
