Kangana Ranaut has once again spoken about the controversy around her comments on Gen Z protesters who gathered at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The BJP MP and actor has now questioned the description of the demonstration as a Gen-Z protest, saying people from different age groups were present. She also claimed that more than half of those at the gathering were ‘Shabana Azmi-type people’. Kangana made the comments while defending her earlier ‘Generation Gutter’ remark, which had triggered criticism. She said her words were aimed at a particular section of protesters and should not be seen as an attack on the entire young population.
Kangana Ranaut’s Latest Swipe At Jantar Mantar Protest
shared her latest clarification on Instagram on Thursday. She questioned why the Jantar Mantar gathering was being presented as a protest representing Gen Z when, according to her, people from several age groups had joined it.
Talking about the size and age mix of the gathering, Ranaut said India has around 30-35 crore people who fall into the Gen Z age group. She claimed that around 10,000 people were present at Jantar Mantar and argued that only a smaller portion of them could be considered Gen Z.
She further claimed that around 2,000 people at the protest were from the Gen Z group. Kangana also used Shabana Azmi’s name while making her point. She said that more than half of the crowd consisted of ‘Shabana Azmi-type people’.
The actor maintained that her earlier criticism was directed at the people who had gathered at Jantar Mantar and not at the entire youth of India. She also challenged critics to show where she had directly attacked the whole Gen Z population.

What Did Kangana Ranaut Say Earlier?
The controversy began last month when Kangana Ranaut reacted to videos from the protests linked to the NEET-UG paper leak issue. She criticised the language and behaviour seen in some viral clips and described the content as ‘puke-inducing’.
In an Instagram post, Kangana said she had never seen so much ugliness in one place. She also criticised the way some people were speaking in the videos and called the overall behaviour crass.
She then used the phrase ‘Generation Gutter’ while speaking about the protesters. More recently, Kangana also addressed the ‘cockroaches’ reference during an interaction with ANI. She argued that the term was connected to protesters who themselves used the word ‘cockroach’.
