Tata Motors recorded car sales of 62,611 units in July 2026, registering a healthy 58.42% YoY growth over 39,521 units sold in July 2025. On a month-on-month basis, volumes remained largely stable, improving 0.86% over 62,076 units sold in June 2026.
Tata Sales Breakup July 2026 – Punch, Nexon Continue To Drive Volumes
Punch retained its position as Tata’s best-selling model with 21,313 units sold in July 2026. The SUV accounted for 34.04% of Tata’s total car sales and nearly doubled its volumes compared to 10,785 units sold in July last year. On a month-on-month basis, Punch sales increased by 307 units.
Nexon secured the second spot with 17,471 units, posting 36.23% YoY growth over 12,825 units sold in July 2025. However, compared to June 2026, Nexon sales declined by 864 units. Tiago, along with Tiago EV, was Tata’s third best-selling model with 7,429 units, registering 33.26% YoY growth while remaining largely flat on a month-on-month basis. Together, Punch and Nexon contributed close to 62% of Tata Motors’ total car sales during the month.
Sierra Sales Cross 50k
Sierra recorded sales of 6,327 units in July 2026, making it Tata’s fourth best-selling car. While these numbers remain respectable, they are lower than what many had expected considering the excitement surrounding its launch. When bookings opened in December 2025, Tata Motors announced receiving over . However, cumulative Sierra sales have now just crossed the 50,000-unit mark after around seven months of regular deliveries.
Sales also indicate that the initial launch momentum has moderated. Sierra retailed over 7,000 units in January and February, peaked at 9,003 units in March, before gradually settling into the 6,000-6,500 unit range over the past few months.
Another important point is that July sales include both Sierra ICE and the recently launched Sierra EV, with the electric version having gone on sale only last month. Despite the addition of the EV, combined Sierra volumes remained largely unchanged, suggesting it will take some time to assess whether the electric variant can significantly expand the model’s overall sales.
Harrier, Safari Register Healthy Growth
Harrier continued its strong momentum with 3,301 units sold in July, registering 48.96% YoY growth over 2,216 units sold in the corresponding month last year. On a month-on-month basis, Harrier sales also improved by 11.44%. Safari posted sales of 1,453 units, up 16.99% YoY while recording a healthy 14.32% increase over June 2026.
Among Tata’s remaining models, Altroz recorded 2,862 units, down 26.71% YoY, although it witnessed a healthy month-on-month improvement of nearly 18%. Curvv registered 1,697 units, reflecting a 15.36% YoY decline and a marginal 3.19% drop compared to June. Tigor retailed 758 units, down 21.69% YoY, though month-on-month sales improved by nearly 26%.
