IND vs AFG T20Is: Afghanistan to host India for three matches in New Delhi

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is set to host  for a three-match T20I series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

According to several media reports, the series will see both teams clashing against each other on September 13, 15, and 17.

“The ACB hereby confirms that the India tour of   2026 (Event) is scheduled to take place from September 13 to September 17,” ACB CEO Naseeb Khan was quoted as saying in a letter to the board’s commercial partners.

“The ACB further confirms that the dates of the Event have been confirmed and agreed with the BCCI and the venues of the scheduled matches have also been finalised,” he added.

Currently, Team India will gear up for a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. The first is scheduled to begin from August 15 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium near Galle Fort.

Ahead of the series,   has received a maiden call-up due to Washington Sundar’s unavailability for the first Test match. Sundar is undergoing rehabilitation for a hamstring injury. Jain has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket. According to several media reports, he was in contention for the series.

Mumbai’s right-handed batsman Sarfaraz Khan has also been announced as the replacement for injured Sai Sudharsan.

Team India has included Aquib Nabi in the squad as Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement. The side is also grappling with multiple injury concerns ahead of the series, with Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy sidelined due to hamstring and quadriceps injuries, respectively.

Also,   will mark his comeback after recovering from a tennis elbow injury suffered during the concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The all-rounder’s role will be crucial for the visitors’ success in the series. Along with him, KL Rahul will need to bring his ‘A-game’ during the series.
