Akshay Kumar has collaborated with producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah for Samuk. After working on Aankhen, Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, and more, the actor reunited with the producer for an alien action spectacle. A few months ago, Akshay admitted to a news agency that he had signed the movie as he found the script fascinating. The actor stated that he was excited for this project as an alien thriller is a new genre for him. The latest development is that Akshay will reportedly commence shooting for Samuk in August this year.
Akshay Kumar To Commence Samuk’s Shoot In August?
According to Variety India‘s report, will begin shooting for Samuk on August 23. The report suggests that the movie will be primarily shot in London, while the remaining portions might be shot in Mumbai. The makers are rumoured to be planning to complete the shoot in one long continuous run than dividing production across multiple schedules.

While Vipul Amrutlal Shah is producing , Kanishk Varma has come on-board as the director. International technicians Alec Gillis and Luke Tumber are apparently a part of this project. It is said to be being developed as a theatrical feature, which might release in 2027.
Earlier, director Kanishk Varma told news agency PTI that Samuk was born from my love for the SPG world and survival thrillers like Alien and Predator. “Bringing those influences together with Akshay sir has been surreal…I always wanted the creature to feel physically real on set. That old-school tactile horror is what made films like Alien timeless,” he added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay will next be seen in Haiwaan. Directed by Priyadarshan, the pyschological action-thriller is scheduled for a big-screen release on September 11, 2026. Co-starring Boman Irani, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar, the movie is sadi to be the remake of the Malayalam crime thriller, Oppam.
The actor will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5. He has joined the already star-studded cast – Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and others. He was last seen in Welcome to the Jungle. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the comic caper was theatrically released on June 26, 2026. Also featuring Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Jackie Shroff, and others, the third installment earned Rs 134.8 crore in India and Rs 192.72 crore at the worldwide box office.
