Hyundai Motor India registered total monthly sales of 61,137 units, marking a 4.1% YoY (year-on-year) growth in May 2026. The carmaker sold 47,837 units in the domestic market, reflecting a strong 9.1% YoY growth, while exports stood at 13,300 units.
Commenting on May 2026 sales results, Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, said: “Hyundai Motor India has continued its strong momentum of the year into May as well, achieving domestic sales of 47,837 units with 9.1% YoY growth and total sales of 61,137 units with 4.1% YoY growth. In the first two months (April and May) of FY27, HMIL witnessed domestic sales rise by 13% to 99,739 units, compared to 88,235 units in the same period of FY26.”
2 New Hyundai Midsize SUVs For India
Hyundai Motor India has recently confirmed three new model launches by the end of current financial year (i.e. by March 2027). The upcoming lineup includes two new midsize SUVs – the third-generation Creta and a new Bayon-based SUV, along with a Made-in-India compact electric SUV.
The is currently undergoing testing and frequent sightings of its test mules have revealed several interesting details. The SUV will receive comprehensive changes inside and out along with the introduction of a new strong hybrid powertrain. Hyundai Motor India is reportedly working on electrifying its proven 1.5L petrol engine for future hybrid models.
The is expected to be offered with multiple powertrain options including a naturally aspirated petrol, turbo petrol and CNG. Measuring around 4.18 metres in length, this new model will face challenge from the Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
New Hyundai Electric Compact SUV
Codenamed HE1i, the upcoming will be positioned against the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. It’s likely to be built on the E-GMP (K) platform, which also underpins the globally available Hyundai Inster EV.
The carmaker will use localised batteries supplied by Exide, and offer the SUV in two variants – Standard Ragne and Logn Range. This new EV SUV will be manufactured at the carmaker’s Sriperumbudur facility in Tamil Nadu.
