is set to begin filming for his ambitious sci-fi horror thriller in London from August 23. According to a report by Variety, the actor will kick off the first schedule of the much-awaited project in the UK later this month. The film is being mounted on an international scale and is expected to combine large-scale action with survival horror and alien-thriller elements.
The London schedule marks the beginning of principal photography for Samuk, which has been in development for several months. The project brings Akshay back into a genre that he has not explored in this manner before. The actor had earlier confirmed that he was fascinated by the script and described the alien-thriller genre as something completely new for him and Indian cinema.
Directed by a, Samuk is being produced by , Akshay Kumar and Aashin A Shah. The film also marks the reunion of Akshay and Vipul after 12 years. Their previous collaborations include Namastey London, Waqt: The Race Against Time and Action Replayy.

What makes Samuk particularly ambitious is its international technical team. Hollywood stunt coordinator Luke Tumber, known for his work on films such as Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Venom and No Time To Die, has joined the project. Creature effects are being handled by Academy Award-nominated artist Alec Gillis, who has worked on the Alien and Predator franchises.
The makers have described Samuk as an alien survival thriller that will combine practical creature effects, military realism and old-school horror aesthetics. Vipul Shah has also indicated that the film will use limited VFX and rely heavily on practical filmmaking techniques. The film is currently planned for a theatrical release in 2027.
