Samantha Ruth Prabhu may be battling the rare autoimmune condition myositis, but she’s only suffering from success. The actress-turned-producer first revealed her health diagnosis in October 2022. After taking a short break to focus on her well-being, she proved her critics wrong with back-to-back projects. After Citadel: Honey Bunny, Kushi and more, she recently starred in the action comedy Maa Inti Bangaram and left everyone impressed. The movie, backed by her husband Raj Nidimoru, became a sleeper hit after positive reviews. In a recent interview, said that she initially worried her health might make people think twice before approaching her for work.
She told ETimes, “Initially, would wonder if my health would make people think twice before casting me. But now I feel self-sufficient with everything that I’m doing. My plate is full with the things I’m creating on my own.”
The Theri actress, who launched her production house with the Telugu horror-comedy Subham, added that producing films allows her to remain in the industry and pursue the things she loves, even when she is not in front of the camera.
