Speaking about joining the show, Madhuri said she was “truly honoured” to be part of a platform that inspires audiences through knowledge and determination. She added that Kon Honar Crorepati is “much more than a quiz show” as it celebrates curiosity, aspiration, hope and the courage to dream.

Madhuri Dixit’s long television association

While this marks her return to hosting after more than two decades, Madhuri is no stranger to television. In 2002, she hosted Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai on Sony Entertainment Television, a reality show centred around arranged marriages. The actor took on the role of a matchmaker as prospective brides and grooms met on the show.

Over the years, Madhuri became a familiar face on reality television through her judging stints on popular dance shows. She was associated with Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and later Dance Deewane, where her warmth and candid interactions with contestants became a key part of the shows.

Meanwhile, the format behind Kon Honar Crorepati became a television phenomenon in India through Kaun Banega Crorepati. Amitabh Bachchan has been closely associated with the Hindi version since its launch in 2000, having hosted almost every season. With Madhuri now taking over the Marathi version, the actress will bring her own personality and experience to the familiar format. She also becomes the second woman in India to host the show after Radhikaa Sarathkumar, who presented the Tamil version.
