In the first match at Arun Jaitley Stadium, rain played a significant role as the West Delhi Lions defeated East Delhi Riders by 8 wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis method. The match was interrupted by rain, leading to a revised target of 58 runs in 7 overs, which the Lions achieved in just 4.1 overs.
Batting first, East Delhi Riders managed to score only 95 runs for the loss of five wickets in 15 overs before the rain halted play. Sujal Singh was the top scorer for the Riders with 34 runs, while Arpil Rana contributed 32 runs.
