Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for directing films like Coolie and Leo, made his smashing acting debut with DC: The Bloody Valentine. Leaving the director’s chair behind, he showcased his acting skills as Devadas in the Arun Matheswaran directorial. Co-starring Wamiqa Gabbi, the romantic action thriller was theatrically released on August 7. Produced by Sun Pictures, DC: The Bloody Valentine follows gangster Devadas, who murders a police officer after the official kills an innocent man and steals Rs 7 lakh which he saved for his son’s education. What Is DC’s Plot?
After Devadas murders a police officer, he goes into the hiding. He crosses paths with a bar singer Parvathy (Sanjana Krishnamoorthy) and falls in love with her. In an unfortunate turn of events, Parvathy gets killed when police officers arrive at a spot to find Devadas and his gang members. Although he gets caught by the cops, Devadas manages to break free from prison and meets Chandra (Wamiqa Gabbi) at a brothel.
He learns about Chandra’s life story. She is someone who hasn’t seen outside world for 18 years. After learning this, Devadas fights with everyone in the brothel to free Chandra and the other girls. What happens next? She joins Devadas and gang members as they go from one place to another while hiding from the police officers.
DC’s Climax Explained
Scenes leading upto the climax reveal that Devadas entered the world of crime after avenging his mother’s murder by killing his uncles over a land dispute. Devadas’ father wanted his son to focus on studies, however, he decided to take revenge and follow a different path. It also shows Devadas trying to gather money for the child whose father was killed by a police officer. Chandra helps him in doing so. However, does he manage to collect the sum and help the young boy? What happens to Devadas and Chandra after their final showdown with the cops? Do they lead a happy life? The story unfolds in the film.
DC Box Office Collection
