Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti’s Asur 3 To Go On Floors In September, New Actress Joins Cast – Report

Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti’s Asur is one of the most loved web shows in the OTT space. The Asur franchise started in 2020 with Arshad and Barun playing the characters of Dhananjay Rajpoot and Nikhil Nair. After a positive reception to the show, the makers renewed it for a second season. It was released in 2023. Last year, Arshad had confirmed that season three was happening. And guess what? The latest update is that Asur season 3 is reportedly ready to go on floors in September this year. According to a media report, the third part will also feature a new actress.

As per Pinkvilla’s report, Asur 3 has undergone a few changes. The report suggests that Gaurav Shukla, who earlier served as the show creator, will take over the director’s chair. Oni Sen had previously helmed the two seasons of this show. That said, the scripting of the upcoming season is reportedly locked and the team is rumoured to be preparing to commence shoot in September this year.

“Shweta Basu Prasad is joining the cast, and Gaurav Shukla will take over the director’s chair this season,” a source told the entertainment portal. Gaurav will apparently not just direct Asur’s new season, he is said to be producing it as well. He had written the two seasons. The first season was released on Voot and the second streamed on Jiocinema.

Earlier, in an interview with Mid-Day, Arshad had shared that the team was figuring out dates for Asur 3‘s shoot. However, he confirmed that it is his next project. “I am yet to read the script, but verbally we know that it’s happening,” he told the portal.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Arshad was last seen in Dhamaal 4 with Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaaferi, Sanjay Mishra, and others. According to Sacnilk, the comic caper did a worldwide box office business of Rs 226.54 crore. On the other hand, it collected Rs 164.75 crore at the domestic box office.

Next up, the actor will be seen in Golmaal 5 with Ajay, Akshay Kumar, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, and others.
