The auto sector saw several new launches and updates this week. Volkswagen introduced a new Virtus Anniversary Edition, while Tata launched the Nexon Camo Edition. Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition
Volkswagen has introduced the Virtus Anniversary Edition in India at ₹19.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the top-spec GT Plus Sport variant, the special edition gets a few additional features while retaining the same price as the standard version. The Anniversary Edition is powered by a 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 150hp and 250Nm. It comes exclusively with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with Volkswagen claiming a fuel-efficiency figure of 19.62kpl. The standard Virtus is also offered with a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 115hp and 178Nm.
Tata Nexon Camo Edition
Tata Motors has rolled out the Nexon Camo Edition at an introductory price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered for a limited period, the special edition is available on the Creative and higher variants and comes with new styling touches and added technology features. It gets two exclusive colour options — Munnar Mist and Coorg Cloud — along with Camo badges on the front fenders.
Mahindra Scorpio N
Mahindra has launched the Scorpio N facelift with prices starting at ₹13.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to ₹25.49 lakh. The update brings new features, minor styling changes and revised pricing, while the mechanical package remains unchanged. The Z2 petrol manual is ₹20,000 more expensive than the outgoing model, while the Z8L diesel 4WD automatic gets a ₹54,000 price increase.
Hennessey Blackbird Hypercar
Hennessey Special Vehicles has unveiled the Blackbird, a naturally aspirated manual hypercar inspired by the Lockheed SR-71 reconnaissance aircraft. Priced from $2.5 million before taxes, the model will be limited to 71 units worldwide. It will make its public debut at The Quail during Monterey Car Week in California on August 14, with a show prototype to be displayed before customer deliveries begin.
Yamaha MotoGP Editions
India Yamaha Motor has brought back the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition for the R15 V4 and MT-15 Version 2.0. The company has also introduced new colour options for its FZ range for the 2026 model year.
Bajaj Pulsar N160
Bajaj has launched the updated Pulsar N160 with several changes and two variants — N160 S and N160 SS. The two variants are priced at ₹1,33,511 and ₹1,42,585, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi). The updated Pulsar N160 gets a 165cc 4-valve engine producing 18.5hp.
E3 Trion Electric Scooter
Bengaluru-based startup E3 Electric.AI has launched the E3 Trion electric scooter at an introductory price starting at ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom). The family-oriented EV will be offered in three variants: C1, C1x and C2. The C1x costs ₹1,09,999, while the C2 is priced at ₹1,19,999. Bookings are currently open in Bengaluru, with the company planning to expand to other markets later.
