Mumbai: The Maha Indoor Cricket Association (MICA) will organise the Junior State Championship and Selection Trials for the 2026-27 season on 16 and 17 August 2026 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Complex, Jalgaon.
Players selected from this championship will represent Maharashtra in the Indian Indoor Sports Foundation (IISF) National Indoor Cricket Championship. Those who perform well at the national level will earn the opportunity to represent India at the Junior World Indoor Cricket Championship, scheduled to be held in South Africa from 26 September to 3 October 2026. This championship is a golden opportunity for young indoor cricketers from Maharashtra to begin their journey towards international indoor cricket.
Road to South Africa Begins from Jalgaon
The tournament is not just a State Championship. It is an important platform for talented young players to move from the state level to the national and international stage. Young cricketers from districts across Maharashtra are expected to participate in large numbers.
Selection in Three Age Categories
The competition will include:
• Under-15 Boys & Girls – State Championship
• Under-13 Boys & Girls – Selection Trials
• Under-17 Boys & Girls – Selection Trials
Players who have not completed 13, 15 or 17 years of age as on 15 October 2026 will be eligible to participate in their respective categories.
Last Date for Registration
District Associations must submit their entries through WhatsApp (9869135083) on or before 10 August 2026. For age verification, Aadhaar Card will be accepted. If Aadhaar is not available, a School Bonafide Certificate will be accepted.All players must participate in their official district uniform. Every Girls’ team must be accompanied by a Lady Manager. Each team can have a maximum of 14 members, including 12 players, 1 coach and 1 manager.

Appeal from the Founder Office-Bearers
Balasaheb (Bal) Toraskar, Founder General Secretary of the Maha Indoor Cricket Association (9869135083), and Kshitij Vedak, Founder Chairman, have appealed to all District Associations to submit their entries before the deadline and participate in large numbers.
They stated that the Jalgaon Championship will open the doors to National and World Indoor Cricket for many promising young players from Maharashtra.
