Will Jacks produced one of the standout fielding moments of The Hundred 2026 as MI London defeated London Spirit by four wickets at Lord’s.
The England all-rounder pulled off a sensational boundary catch to dismiss Lhuan-dre Pretorius, showcasing remarkable athleticism and awareness in the field.
The spectacular moment came during the 49th delivery of London Spirit’s innings. Pretorius, who had already raced to a brilliant half-century, attempted to loft Nathan Sowter towards the long-off region. Jacks was positioned near the boundary and initially leapt to take the ball, but his momentum carried him towards the ropes.
Showing incredible presence of mind, Jacks managed to keep the ball in play before completing the dismissal. He steadied himself, moved back inside the field and then launched into a full-length dive to complete a remarkable one-handed catch. His effort sent Pretorius back to the pavilion after the South African had smashed 52 off just 28 deliveries, including five fours and three sixes.
The catch proved crucial as London Spirit were restricted to 160/5 from their 100 balls. MI London then chased down the target with six deliveries to spare, reaching 164/6 to secure a four-wicket victory. Nicholas Pooran contributed 39, while Sam Curran and Sikandar Raza also played important knocks during the successful chase.
However, it was Jacks’ extraordinary piece of fielding that stole the spotlight. The catch combined athleticism, balance and awareness, and quickly emerged as one of the most spectacular catches of the tournament so far.
