Jagran Correspondent, Jammu: According to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir from August 6 to 8 am as monsoon activity remains strong.
Heavy rain has been lashing several areas during the past 24 hours.
While rain is expected at most places from August 9 to 11, heavy rain is expected in some districts. Light rain and thundershowers may continue at many places from August 12 to 15 as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in some districts from August 9 to 11.
Flash Flood Alert
IMD has warned that torrential rain could lead to flash floods, landslides, and waterlogging in low-lying areas. The Meteorological Department has advised people, especially those living in hilly and vulnerable areas, and travellers to remain vigilant.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, some districts may also experience heavy rain for a short period. From August 6 to 8, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to continue in many parts. From August 9 to 11, rain is likely to occur at most places, with heavy rain expected in some districts. From August 12 to 15, light rain and thundershowers may continue at many places. According to IMD, maximum temperatures were recorded around or above normal in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
