North Delhi Strikers secured a six-wicket victory against East Delhi Riders in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday night, following an impressive batting display.
East Delhi Riders set a competitive target of 171 for six in their 20 overs, largely due to an unbeaten 82 from Sujal Singh. The left-handed batter anchored the innings, scoring 82 runs off 50 balls, including six fours and four sixes, according to a DPL press release. Despite regular wickets hindering the Riders, Sujal maintained the innings’ momentum and accelerated in the latter half to help post a fighting total.
Vikas Dixit was the key bowler for North Delhi Strikers, delivering four overs for just 19 runs and taking one wicket. The rest of the bowling unit maintained a disciplined line despite Sujal’s resistance.
In reply, North Delhi Strikers stumbled early, losing two wickets with the score at 39. Captain Sarthak Ranjan and Yash Bhatia then forged a 113-run partnership for the third wicket, shifting the momentum decisively.
Ranjan produced a commanding innings of 95 runs from 50 balls, hitting eight sixes and seven fours. He dominated the bowling, particularly in the 14th over, where he scored 29 runs off Simarjeet Singh. Although he missed out on a century, Ranjan had firmly established control before being caught by Vaibhav Baisla off Ashish Meena.
After the dismissal of Bharat Sindhwani, Yash Bhatia maintained composure, scoring an unbeaten half-century and guiding the team to victory with six wickets in hand and four overs remaining. This win marks another convincing performance for North Delhi Strikers in the tournament.
