Hyundai Venue Hybrid
Hyundai launched the new-generation Venue last year, with new features, improved safety and a fresh design. The Venue also received a significant update – a new platform. Now based on the K1 platform, the Venue is the safest SUV in its segment. But that’s not it. This new platform can also accommodate a hybrid powertrain. The badge-engineered Venue, Kia Sonet, is set to receive the K1 platform update in 2028, and Kia has confirmed the launch of the Sonet Hybrid as well. So, it is safe to say that the Venue will likely get the same hybrid tech.
What To Expect?
Kia is currently working on a hybrid powertrain for the Sonet, and the Venue will likely get the same option. The Nexon offers almost every engine option: a petrol engine, a diesel engine, a CNG option and is also offered as an EV. But offering a hybrid powertrain on the Venue will give Hyundai an upper hand, especially considering potential buyers in that segment are quite fuel economy-conscious. We expect to see a 1.2-litre petrol hybrid powertrain, which will offer decent performance and impressive fuel economy figures of up to 25 km/l.
This powertrain option will likely be introduced with a facelift of the Venue, and we can expect it to arrive by early 2028. No other car in this segment offers a hybrid powertrain as of now, and if the Venue and Sonet are the first ones to offer it, it could help increase sales. Currently, the Hyundai Venue prices range from Rs. 9.47 lakh to Rs. 19.22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We can expect the hybrid models to go up to Rs. 21 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
