The BCCI on Tuesday (August 4) sent a farewell message to Ryan ten Doeschate and T Dilip. The apex didn’t renew their contracts, which ended in June 2026. They continued to coach Team India during the white-ball series against England.
Ahead of the Sri Lanka tour, the BCCI confirmed that their contracts weren’t extended and sent them a farewell message. “Thank you, Assistant Coach Ryan ten Doeschate and Fielding Coach T Dilip, for your invaluable contributions to Team India. Your dedication, professionalism and tireless efforts behind the scenes have played a big role in the team’s journey and success. Wishing you both every success in the next chapter of your careers,” the BCCI wrote on X.
Doeschate joined the Indian coaching staff along with Gautam Gambhir in 2024. The only Netherlands player to feature in IPL, Doeschate played under Gambhir’s captaincy for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Dilip joined India’s coaching staff along with Rahul Dravid in 2021. He was the only coach from Dravid’s staff who retained his position in 2024. The BCCI removed Dilip after the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The apex board didn’t look for a replacement and brought him back to the coaching set-up before the start of the international season. Dilip had a five-year stint with Team India.
Subhadeep Ghosh appointed new fielding coach
The BCCI recently confirmed Ghosh’s appointment as the new fielding coach. Ghosh has worked with India A, India women’s team and at the National Cricket Academy. He travelled to Australia with the women’s team in 2021. He has also worked with KKR and Delhi Capitals. The two-match Test series against Sri Lanka will mark Ghosh’s first assignment as India’s fielding coach.
