Mahavishnu hails from Alanganallur in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Long before becoming a spiritual speaker, he gained popularity as a teenage stand-up comedian under the stage name Madurai Maha. He appeared on Sun TV’s comedy reality show Asathappovadhu Yaaru, where his humour and stage presence earned him recognition.

Mahavishnu made headlines in September 2024 after he was arrested by the Tamil Nadu Police following controversy surrounding his spiritual awareness sessions conducted at government schools in Chennai. According to reports, he delivered talks on Teachers’ Day at two government schools where he discussed concepts such as rebirth and karma.
