DJ Moore doesn’t need reminding why the Buffalo Bills signed him. The veteran wide receiver knows that he is in Buffalo to deliver a championship.
The Bills haven’t had a proper WR1 since Stefon Diggs left. They experimented with several different receivers in the meantime. They brought in Amari Cooper, Joshua Palmer, and Mecole Hardman Jr., drafted Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman, but none managed to establish themselves as quarterback Josh Allen‘s number one target.
Ahead of the 2025 season, the Bills tried once again. This time, they acquired DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears via trade. Moore was a full participant at the first phase of the Bills’ offseason training sessions. He linked back with the team at the recent spring camp, where he spoke with Kay Adams.
Adams asked Moore whether he was aware of the behind the Bills signing him.

Moore spent last season on the Bears. He caught 50 passes for 682 yards and scored 6 touchdowns.
Moore has had spells with the Panthers and the Bears in the past. Besides Caleb Williams, he never had the opportunity to receive passes from a truly elite quarterback.
Meanwhile, Josh Allen has proven that on his day he is capable of single-handedly winning a game for the Bills. However, with Moore now being on the team, Allen can afford to reduce his runs and throw the ball more.
Dion Dawkins highlighted that fact while speaking with Kay Adams.
[Josh Allen] doesn’t have to put it all on his back [now]. When he has a player he can depend on, it’s gonna get open, he could toss the ball to, it’s cool. And now he has somebody to do that.

The big offensive lineman also batted for the Bills’ other WR, Joshua Palmer, who recently recovered from a severe ankle injury.
Joshua Palmer is finally fully healthy and now we can truly see what he is and why he’s been brought here [in Buffalo]. If you aren’t watching camp—he’s flying around, he’s confident. Last year he got hurt and couldn’t fully recover. Now flying around, beating guys deep, ball over top, scoring.

Moore moved to the Meadowlands earlier in the year, leaving behind his 4-acre mansion in North Carolina. According to TMZ, Moore recently put his Carolina house up for sale, and buyers can get it for around $5,225,000.
Per TMZ, the 9,673-square-foot house has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, which include a theater-ready room, wellness/yoga room, exercise room, and wet bar-ready studio. Moore bought the place in 2022, a year before he was traded to the Chicago Bears.
The Panthers drafted Moore 24th overall in 2018. Since then, he has caught 608 passes for 8213 yards and scored 41 touchdowns in 131 appearances.
Moore is under a four-year, $110 million contract, which he signed with the Bears in 2024. It will end after the 2027 season. Per Over the Cap, the deal features $82.6 million in total guarantees and a $20 million signing bonus, due to a minor adjustment made by the Bills.
