State Bureau, New Delhi: Light rain is expected in Delhi on the first Monday of Sawan. However, humidity is likely to continue in the national capital.
Heavy showers were witnessed in certain parts on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cloud cover will persist on Monday. Temperatures will remain below or near normal. The daytime temperature is expected to hover around 32 degrees Celsius. The sky will be partly cloudy during the day, with a chance of light rain.
On Sunday, cloud covered was witnessed in many areas of the NCR with rain recorded in the afternoon, bringing relief from the humid heat. The rain continued for 1.5 hours following which, sunshine prevailed. The sky remained cloudy in the evening.

IMD forecasts that the sky will remain cloudy for the next two days, with a probability of rain. This will bring a drop in temperatures.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s AQI was recorded at 75 at 10 am on Monday. This is considered satisfactory. The air quality in the NCR cities is also in the satisfactory to moderate category.
Meanwhile, the monsoon is set to become active once again in Uttar Pradesh. This week, widespread rain, with heavy downpours at some places, is expected. According to the Meteorological Department, the average temperature this month is expected to be above normal, but the maximum temperature in the state may drop by four degrees Celsius this week.
Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that as the well-marked low pressure area centered over southeastern Rajasthan progressively weakens and moves west-northward, the monsoon trough is gradually shifting northward. This is expected to gradually strengthen the monsoon flow over the Gangetic plains.
Apart from this, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun and surrounding areas.
