Accompanied by his sons, Linga and Yatra, the actor was seen dressed in a traditional outfit and offered prayers to the presiding deity. His visit comes as filming for Om enters its final schedule in the temple town. Videos of Dhanush greeting devotees and being mobbed by fans outside the temple during an earlier visit also went viral on social media. The temple visit marks one of Dhanush’s first public appearances since his speech, which led many fans to speculate that he may be preparing to enter politics.

Om gears up for October release
Om Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood marks Rajkumar Periasamy’s third directorial venture. The filmmaker recently won the National Award for his 2024 film Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan. Scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, Om boasts an ensemble cast including Mammootty, Sreeleela, Sai Pallavi, Naseeruddin Shah and Indrans. The film also marks Naseeruddin Shah’s return to Tamil cinema 26 years after his debut in Hey Ram. The makers have kept the storyline under wraps. It is jointly produced by Dhanush under his Wunderbar Films banner and Shraddha Agrawal’s R Take Studios. Apart from Om, Dhanush has an untitled project with director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu expected to begin filming later this month. He will collaborate with Vetri Maaran for , written by acclaimed author Arivumathi.
