West Delhi Lions defeated New Delhi Tigers by 19 runs in Match 3 of the Delhi Premier League 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, with stand-in captain Ayush Doseja scoring a match-winning half-century and the bowling unit holding firm.
After New Delhi Tigers chose to bowl first, Pradyuman Sanan and Hrithik Shokeen quickly dismissed the West Delhi openers, putting the defending champions under pressure. However, Doseja led a strong recovery with a brilliant innings of 84 runs from 52 balls, including 10 fours and two sixes.
Mayank Gusain contributed an unbeaten 46 off 35 deliveries, featuring four sixes, to help West Delhi Lions reach a competitive total of 170 for 5.
Chasing 171, New Delhi Tigers suffered an early top-order collapse, ending the powerplay at 28 for 4. Aryan Sharma and Vaibhav Rawal then combined for a 41-run partnership to stabilise the innings.
Manan Bhardwaj dealt a significant blow by taking two wickets in two balls, dismissing Sharma for 31 and Hrithik Shokeen for a golden duck. Despite this, Manan Sehrawat responded with a rapid 51 off 26 balls to keep the Tigers in contention.
Ultimately, West Delhi Lions maintained their composure during the final overs to secure victory. Kulwant Khejroliya and Manan Bhardwaj each took three wickets, while Shubham Dubey and Mayank Gusain claimed two apiece.
