Hyundai Bayon-Based SUV India Launch: Hyundai is getting ready to beef up its SUV lineup in India with a brand-new SUV based on the Bayon platform internally tagged as BC4i. This thing has been spotted testing on Indian roads a bunch of times already, it looks like development is nearing the end of the tunnel. Hyundai hasn’t said a proper launch day yet though. Still, a lot of industry chatter points to a launch somewhere in Q2 FY2027 which is basically July to September 2026.
Hyundai Bayon-Based SUV India Launch
Hyundai has said it will roll out new SUV nameplates in the ongoing financial year, however, it has not pinned down any fixed calendar date for this Bayon-derived SUV. According to automotive reports, the BC4i plan is leaning toward a Q2 FY2027 debut, so an arrival in that July–September 2026 window seems like the best bet for now.

- Modern LED lighting signature
Expected Features

The new Hyundai SUV is expected to come equipped with several premium features including:
- Large touchscreen infotainment system
- Fully digital instrument cluster
- Wireless Android Auto and CarPlay
- Ventilated front seats
- Wireless phone charging
- Panoramic or electric sunroof (variant dependent)
- Six airbags
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- Level 2 ADAS on higher variants (expected)
Engine Options
Although Hyundai has not officially revealed the powertrain, reports suggest the SUV could be offered with:
- A naturally aspirated petrol engine
- A new-generation turbo-petrol engine
- Manual and automatic transmission options
- A CNG variant could also be introduced later for the Indian market.
Expected Price
The Bayon-based SUV is expected to be priced between ₹11 lakh and ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the variant and engine option. This would position it as a premium offering above the Venue while remaining more affordable than the Creta.

Apart from the Bayon-based SUV, Hyundai will also launch a new compact electric SUV. The SUV has been spotted testing quite a few times and we expect it to be Hyundai’s own version of the Kia Syros EV.
